2. Submit a new city public-records request when the item is not already posted.
3. Contact Calexico Police for a police report or Records Unit question.
4. Move to the Sheriff for county booking data and to Imperial Superior Court for filed charges.
5. Use California DOJ Live Scan only to review your own statewide criminal history.

Names and dates should be checked at each stage. A Calexico police event can exist before a county case number does, and not every report leads to prosecution.

Calexico NextRequest Record Search

The Calexico Police Department is at 420 East Fifth Street, Calexico, CA 92231. Its business line is 760-768-2140, fax is 760-357-1241, and public email is police@calexico.ca.gov. The city names Armando Orozco as chief and lists an administration line of 760-768-4046.

Calexico describes the Records Unit as a staff of records clerks with a Records Supervisor allocation. The unit processes officer-generated reports, requests from other law-enforcement agencies, citizen and research requests, and Live Scan requests, along with other clerical work. That scope makes it the local point for interpreting what Calexico Police created and whether it can be released.

Calexico City and Police Requests

Calexico’s City Clerk and Police Department serve related but distinct roles. The City Clerk is the official custodian of records for the city, receives and responds to CPRA requests, administers the records management system, and protects city files. Police Records works with reports created by officers and the operational requests described by the department.

Use NextRequest when a broad city public record or a previously released document may satisfy the need. Contact police when the request depends on a report number, incident, or officer-generated file. The two paths are not rivals. The clerk manages the citywide request system, while police staff know the department’s own report inventory and release limits.

Booking and Arrest Records in Calexico

A Calexico arrest creates a police report at the city level. If the person is booked into Imperial County custody, the Sheriff’s Office creates the booking file. If the District Attorney files a case, the Superior Court then creates a criminal docket. These are three records, held by three custodians, and they can post at different times.

Ask Calexico Police for the officer report. Use sheriff jail resources for current custody and booking details. Search court records for charges, hearings, plea, disposition, probation, or sentence. A border-city location does not change this basic county route. Federal cases are separate and belong to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, not the Imperial Superior Court.

Finding Released Calexico Documents

A policy manual is not a personal criminal history result, but it can explain how the department governs records, enforcement, and internal practices.

This distinction prevents a common search error. NextRequest can locate public city documents and policies. Police Records can address incident reports. The court portal answers whether a criminal prosecution was filed. A policy page cannot confirm what happened in one case, just as a court docket does not reproduce the full police narrative.

Policy records can still help when a requester needs to understand the rule in force on a given date. Search the Calexico archive by policy subject and year, then request the version that matches the event period. A later manual may contain a revised section and should not be assumed to state the older rule. For a decision made in one investigation, seek the responsive incident material and any releasable administrative record rather than drawing a conclusion from policy text alone.
